IPP Introduces Industry's Fastest Terminal - (2007-03-15)

Giant Foods Chain of supermarkets in upstate new york first to adapt new technology Fairfield, New Jersey - March 12, 2007 — IPP of America, Inc., (IPP) a leading electronic payment systems company, announced that it has deployed the first Internet Protocol (IP) based version of the IPPPAYS Bill Payment and Prepaid processing point of sale system running on the Verifone 37xx terminal. Giant Foods, a supermarket chain based on Binghamton, NY was chosen as the first retail location to go live with the new system due to the their high transaction volume and demanding customer service requirements.

"We use the IPP as our primary payment processor to provide electronic walk-in bill payment services and prepaid wireless and long distance to our consumers. With over 8,000 payment transactions taken a month in twelve locations a dial-up terminal was simply too slow to provide the level of customer service we strive for," stated a spokesperson for Giant Foods. "We are very pleased with IPP's responsiveness and willingness to develop specialized solutions to meet our needs."

Giant Foods has developed an innovative concept called Market Teller sm to give their customers the convenience of in-store financial services such as ATM, Check Cashing, Bill Payments, Cellular Phone purchases and refills. "Because of Giant Foods' position as an innovator and their commitment to technology, we knew that had a good showcase to introduce our newest payment processing platform" said Alex Cooper, Executive Vice President, IPP.

IPP has made a major commitment to the supermarket industry. According to Richard Okun, VP Sales for IPP; "Bill payment and other financial services provide a community service to many different consumer segments that fit the demographics of most major supermarkets in the US. By giving customers multiple reasons to visit the store, we give our retailers a competitive advantage and help boost store revenue through increased customer traffic."
